How to Enjoy the Mountains if You Don’t Ski or Snowboard

snowy mountain A lot of people move into our Centennial, CO apartments because they want to have easy access to all the ski towns that can be found up in the mountains. We certainly won't disagree that this is one of the many perks of our community, but what do you do if you don't ski or snowboard? Here are a few ideas!

Hit the Hot Springs

Colorado's mountains are filled with natural hot springs that come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of privacy. Strawberry Hot Springs, for example, has several pools, each of which maintains a slightly different temperature. This stunning spot also becomes an adults-only location after dark, which is important to know ahead of time if you'll have kiddos with you. The pool at Glenwood Springs provides another awesome option, enabling visitors to soak in the large swimming pool that's conveniently located right in front of the historic Hotel Colorado.

There's nothing quite like sitting in a steaming hot pool of water while the snow falls all around you. It's an experience you certainly can't get in most states.

Go Horseback Riding

Seeing the hills of the Rocky and the San Juan Mountains from a saddle puts nature's work into a completely different perspective. Most companies offer horseback tours for all skill levels, including people who have never even been on a horse before.

Get ready to see breathtaking views and photo opportunities that simply can't be captured from the comfort of your car.

Take Off On a Snow Tube

Maybe staying vertical atop the slopes isn't really your thing, but that's okay. You can still enjoy the exhilaration of heading down a mountain without exerting extra energy. Snow tubing is great for people of all ages and skill levels. Most ski villages offer snow tubing, so if you're heading into the hills with people who ski or snowboard, you'll still be able to enjoy the great outdoors. If you're specifically hunting for a place to test your snow-tubing abilities, you'll want to head to Fraser.

Going to the mountains is even more fun when you have a beautiful apartment to come home to. Check out our photo gallery so you can see why The Apartments at Greenwood Plaza are always warm and inviting!
