Summer Festivals in Denver

  |     |   Around Town

Outdoor ParkSummer is a pretty special time around the Mile High. Denver offers an abundance of opportunities to celebrate this sunny season, and there's no shortage of festivals near our Centennial apartments. Just a short drive up I-25 or a quick ride on the light rail, you'll find everything from beer-inspired celebrations to arts-and-crafts endeavors.

Here's a look at a few of Denver's favorite festivals:

People's Fair

People's Fair is Denver's ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially lets summer begin. Head to Civic Center Park from June 1-3, where you'll be greeted by blocks of vendors and entertainers. As one of the major annual festivals in Colorado's capital city, People's Fair attracts folks from near and far, welcoming them to wander the streets of downtown, which become pedestrian-only places for this occasion. Come ready with a bit of cash, because the interesting eats and art will surely leave you curious enough to try something new!

Five Points Jazz Festival

In recent years, Five Points has undergone major revitalization, but the heart and soul that sings in this part of the city still rings loud and true each summer. Bring a blanket and post up on the grass as the tunes of some of the most legendary jazz musicians fill the air on May 19. This is a great festival for people-watching and music-enjoying.

Denver Chalk Art Festival

Art takes on a whole new look when it's painted on to a sidewalk. The Denver Chalk Art Festival (June 2 & 3) brings some of the world's most incredible artists to the heart of the city. If you've never seen chalk art in its finest form, be prepared to witness breathtaking art unfolding before your very eyes.

While you're at it, be sure to stop into the shops and restaurants located around Larimer Square. It's such a great way to spend a weekend!

A Taste of Colorado

If you have a big appetite for delicious bites, A Taste of Colorado is one festival you'll definitely need to pencil into your calendar on September 1-3. This weekend-long festival is a favorite of foodies from all over the Front Range and beyond. Be prepared to indulge in your favorite flavors, but make sure to check out something unique while you're there.

If you're looking for luxury apartment living that's close to all the action, but in a place where you still have privacy from the hustle and bustle of the city, our Greenwood Plaza Apartments are ready to welcome you home. Just take a look at all of the awesome amenities we offer our residents!
